We are a great little Inn nestling on the outskirts of the town of Forres, offering the very best of great local produce and warm and welcoming hospitality.
At the Knockomie Hotel, in the Scottish Highlands, Scotland, we are proud of our luxury bedrooms; not one is the same and they all have their fans! Over the next few years we intend to make them even more distinctive and memorable.
Ideas often come from our guests who share their dreams with us. The first to be themed was the Scottish Room at the request of an American couple that used the hotel frequently and sent their friends and colleagues to visit us.
So an idea was born. We now have a traditional Scottish Four-Poster room and a Colonial Four-Poster room within the Hotel, both very different offering completely unique experiences.
Knockomie Hotel’s Restaurant has an extensive Grill Menu which features dishes that are produced from ingredients scourced from local suppliers. Dishes such as Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon and Game Terrine. We also feature steaks and lamb on this menu and pride ourselves on only using the finest local beef and lamb.
All our beef is procured from Macbeth’s butchers in Forres. Established 25 years ago, Macbeth’s supply beef that has been home-grown at their farms at Dallas, Moray. From a base of two Highland Cows grazing in front of their house, Macbeth’s have built up a herd of 180 breeding cows all with Highland blood, but most now crossed with the Aberdeen Angus Bull. Fed on grass and homemade silage with no compound feeds, they produce a high quality beef that is hung for 2–3 weeks to enhance its flavour, which we are sure you will enjoy.
